If you are looking for a private and secure alternative to Google Drive but don’t want to spend any money on it here you have the best alternatives:

Probably my favorite among all the options since it is equally secure as its pay plans, meaning that the level of encryption is as high as if you were paying for it. For me this is very important because it means that they truly care about privacy, not just money. You can get up to 10GB for free which is such a generous amount of free space and functionalities for the free plan are really great.

A big no for me. A priori it may seem that they give you 10GB for free and that’s great. The problem is that if you truly care about your privacy you should keep in mind that to enjoy true zero-knowledge you have to pay what they call pCloud Crypto. So storing your files really securely with pCloud is not free.

Take care with this one. You can enjoy 3GB for free only for 14 days. They announce it as if it was a free plan but in fact it is not. It is a free trial

The same situation as with pCloud, at first it may seem like a very good option but if you investigate a little more you will realize that the storage they offer for free is not secure at all. This means that they only value your security if you pay and therefore their focus is not really on security but on making money.

It is important to know all this before choosing a cloud storage. It doesn’t matter if it’s free, you always have to look for security and privacy while selecting a platform to store your data.
